SEAFORD, Del. – In Delaware, one non-profit is hosting a new program to provide more positive interactions for community youth.
It’s Boomerang Community Outreach Incorporated’s SWAG program. It stands for Self-confident, Winning, Appointed, Go-getters.
The goal is to teach children ages 5 to 17 years old social and behavioral skills, personal development, and promote positive mental health.
Organizers say their focus is on youth in both Seaford and Laurel, as kids across those communities currently lack programs targeted specifically to them. “The goal is that when those adversities arise, families and individuals feel like they have a community around them to help them overcome,” Boomerang Outreach Founder Danecia Page said.
“But just things to promote family enrichment and positive interactions for our youth. So definitely if you want your children to SWAG different, please send them to Boomerang. We would love to have them.”
Boomerang Community Outreach Inc.’s goal is to help individuals, families, and youth overcome hardships and find solutions to a better life.
The program is completely free and will kick off Monday, January 9th 2023 at the Restoration Community Church in Seaford.
The program will run from 5:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m. weekly.
Registration is required and for more information you can contact Danecia Page at (302)-404-0186 or email [email protected].
